What's the franchising process?

  • Application– visit the Nestlé cafe website to complete a full application or complete the Express Request Form below to receive a phone call from our franchise sales department
  • Review the UFOC– upon approval of your application, Nestlé Toll House Café will send you a copy of the company's Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC). This is a disclosure document that describes the franchise system and our company. It also provides a complete listing of other franchise owners and their contact information
  • Do your Homework!– Call current operators and ask questions! This is your time to ask any and all questions. Complete the Decision Day questionnaire and fax back to the corporate office.
  • Request Documents– Homework is complete and you feel ready to ask for initial approval and receive documents. After approval, you will schedule a Decision Day in Dallas.
  • Decision Day– a four-hour meeting in Dallas, Texas. You will visit a Café and meet with corporate executives from Operations, Marketing and Real Estate. At the end of the day you may submit your executed documents to theExecutive Committee for final approval.
  • Executive Committee– The Committee meets once a month and reviews submitted documents for final approval by the committee at that time.

3 Different Options

Street Cafe Model Option
The street cafe is often found in the Outdoor Lifestyle Centers.  Many locations offer both inside and outdoor seating, based on space and availability.  The average location size
varies, but ranges from 800 - 1250 square feet.

The average investment for a street cafe ranges from $152,300 to $420,000 and is based on the location, size, landlord requirements, as well as other design or architectural fees that may be needed to construct the location.  The investment includes the initial franchise fee as well as from $30,000-60,000 of startup funds necessary to establish your business. 

Mall Inline Model Option
The inline cafe is recognized as a storefront style location designed to fit into the typical shopping center retail store framework.  These locations are often located in heavy traffic areas of shopping centers.  The average location size varies, but ranges from 500 - 800 square feet.

The average investment ranges from $152,300 to $420,000 and is based on the location, size, landlord requirements, as well as other design or architectural fees that may be needed to construct the location.  The investment includes the initial franchise fee as well as from $30,000-60,000 of startup funds necessary to establish your business. 

Kiosk Model Option
The kiosk cafe locations may offer the lowest investment and range from 250 - 400 square feet.  Kiosks are often located in indoor shopping centers as well as airports, or other similar protected locations.

The average kiosk investment ranges from $156,850 to $245,900 and is based on the location, size, landlord requirements, as well as other design fees that may be needed to prepare the space for the kiosk.  The investment includes the initial franchise fee as well as from $20,000-50,000 of startup funds necessary to establish your business.
