The business was started by the owner in 2009 when he took semi-retirement from the corporate environment. Despite it being his intention to operate as a lifestyle business, the business has grown steadily to establish a significant foothold in the South African market.
The company is the South African representative of a leading global management consultancy operating in the space between marketers and their communications agency partners, for which they pay a royalty fee on revenue. They help companies find the best fit agency partner/s, implement the optimum agency partner roster model, adopt ‘best practice’ ways of working and develop the necessary capabilities and skills to deliver optimum ROI.
Their 10+-year track record of working with many of the world’s leading brands, proven and robust methodologies and worldwide reach, through a global network represented in 10 countries, means they have the knowledge, experience and capability to help businesses, efficiently and effectively, across geographies and sectors. The business is independent and impartial - taking no fees or payments from agencies. Their sole motivation is to help Marketing and Procurement professionals fulfil their business objectives.
The owner has extensive experience in both the advertising and marketing industries, with in depth knowledge of both that is key to operating the company to the global standards expected.
The business, effectively a one-man business, is run from home and easily relocatable. The owner is reaching retirement age and feels the time is right to hand over to a person that can take the business to the next level in South Africa and beyond. The business is ideally suited to someone with a similar advertising and marketing background and with the drive and passion to grow the business to its full potential and take advantage of the many opportunities that exists for it in South Africa, the rest of Africa and the Middle East, which form part of the franchise territory, although largely unexplored.
The business is primarily project based, explaining the fluctuation in revenue year on year. That said, a number of clients have provided repeat business. At a global level, the business has recently developed a unique consulting offer.
The owner took up the position outside the business from mid-2020 until late-2021. This proved rather more time consuming than anticipated and, as a result, diluted his contribution to the business, with particular consequences for the 2021 results and ‘project pipeline’. However, from early 2022, he is again fully focused on the business.
The business has served blue chip clients in South Africa such as Sanlam, Sappi, Heineken, BMW, Virgin Active, ABInBev, Nedbank, Nando’s, MTN, Total, Standard Bank, Sun International and the Western Cape Government amongst others.
